^ Photograph from behind the scenes of Jurassic Park. Photo shows both the Jeeps and the Explorers used in the filming. The tailgates are open on the Explorers as that is where the driver sat, giving the illusion that the cars were driverless.
Features
Each Tour Vehicle possessed a interactive CD-ROM. They had leather interiors, night-vision goggles under the seats, and a drinking tap that supplied visitors with water. Road flares, flashlights and brochures were stored in the trunk. It is not clean where the Explorers derived their power from although it can be presumed that they ran on internal car batteries, See when the T. Rex pushed EXP 04 off the track, the headlights and high beams continued to work as well as the fact that Arnold complains that the headlights should be not running off the car's batteries. The top speed of the vehicles were 20/12 mph, which wasn't very fast.
Behind the Scenes
^ Above photograph goes into detail about how the driverless illusion was achieved.
